Autopano giga export to ptgui
PTGui can read the file, however initially i had some problems with the image orientations.I realized that it can be necessary to change the image orientation in the EXIF file. I used the regular grid feature (gigapan import) of APG to find the CPs in the 2000 images. I got it working, and the result looks very nice (though I have only seen the preview with reduced resolution).

Maybe I could use Autopano at the begin and export the autopano project with the control points to PTGUI. Should the control points be transferred automatically to PTGUI, or do I have to save the control points on the Autopano side? I've also tried with a very small number of images - even with 5 images doesn't finish the job. The progress bar in PTGUI newer reaches the 100 percent.

Only PTGUI doesn't seem to recognize that Autopano has finished the control point search. Autopano Giga starts, shows the selected images, calculates the control points and finishes the search (the window remains open). So, I tried to use the Autopano control point import functions in the "Control Points" menu of PTGUI. I found that Autopano Giga in this case does a significantly better job, often it can find control points even on a cloudy sky (some structure is necessary of course.). Here PTGUI has still difficulties finding control points. In summer the landscape panoramas are often a bit hazy and contrast is lacking - in particular near the horizon. Other features include a Stereo 3D toolset enabling the creation of truly immersive content, one-click Stabilization that easily and quickly smooths out shaky footage and Keyframe Animation, providing enhanced stitching flexibility and greater control of the VR 360 post-production process.I am using PTGUI - currently version 10.0.2 - for stitching gigapixel panoramas (of 2000 and more images). Many of the VR camera manufacturers have adopted Mistika VR as a first choice solution providing metadata which ensures a faster, better and more precise stitch. It has revolutionized the way multi-camera stitching is done and reduced the time taken to correct footage from hours to minutes - all at the highest possible quality.

The complete guide on how to use Autopano Giga files in Mistika VR can be found HERE.Ībout Mistika VRMistika VR is an affordable Virtual Reality focused software solution for optical flow stitching that achieves speeds quicker than real-time for a 4K VR media encoding and stabilizes 360 footage in just one simple click. The entire list of new features and enhancements in this latest release of Mistika VR (8.8.8) can be found HERE. In addition, there are licensing stability upgrades and improvements in the Project Settings Editor. Additionally, Mistika VR can now open Autopano Giga files with a set of frames exported and read calibration data from original Autopano files. This latest release enables PT GUI 11 support, implementing a new fisheye factor parameter'. This new tool facilitates the selection of a perfect calibration frame with the results being immediately applied in Mistika VR.
